About CCE

Continuing Christian Education (CCE) is a learning and enriching process through which individuals gain understanding and knowledge about their faith and thereby strengthen the foundation of their faith. At Ascension Chinese Mission, such programs are created in accordance with the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. 

Importance

Many people regard children’s education a top priority investment for them to succeed in the future. Obviously, there is no better investment than the gift of faith. Children nurtured in an environment of strong faith grow up knowing the grace of God is with them every step of the way. For this important reason a large part of the Children CCE program is devoted to the children's religious education.

Enrichment

Various enrichment and service activities are planned throughout the liturgical year to help our children practice the Christian faith and live out what they learned in the classroom and from their parents at home.​

Class Times

Children from Pre-K to fifth grade are enrolled in one of the seven classes according to their grade levels.
SUNDAYS:
First Grade: 10:05am-10:50am
2nd Grade - 5th Grade: 10:05am - 11:30 am 

Classes are led by a group of highly dedicated volunteer catechists, many of them have been teaching CCE for more than ten years!​​

Sacrament Preparation

First Reconciliation & First Communion
Separate classes are offered to prepare children who are older than 8 years of age.
