who are we?At Ascension Chinese Mission, we have a small team of four parishioners, one for the week day Mass in the morning, from Monday to Saturday, one for each of the three weekend Masses. They keep the liturgical books, vestments, vessels, candle stands and materials in good operating conditions and make sure sufficient hosts and wine are ready for celebrating the Mass. For liturgical season, they also prepare the fresh palms, feet washing towel.
We have three instituted Acolytes Matthew Thai, Joseph Wu and Lawrence Hsu at Ascension Chinese Mission and they work on rotating schedule to serve the three weekend Masses. They are responsible for the cruets, chalices, ciboria, linens, oils, processional crosses, candles, torches, purificators, corporals, hand towels, incense, coals to be ready before the Mass starts. After the Mass, they purify the sacred vessels before the second purification The team meets regularly for readiness for the liturgical seasons. |
