The Ascension Parish Council is composed of 12 members. There are 8 council members are elected by parishioners. The rest of the four seats (Finance, Liturgy, Special Needs, and Religious Education) are appointed by the parish pastor. The elected council members serve a term of two years and are eligible for nomination of a 2nd term. Every year, half of the seats are up for election. The president, vice president, and the Secretary are elected by the council members.
The Parish Council serves in an advisory role to the pastor of the parish. Also, the council involves in planning and organizing activities that will enrich the spiritual lives of the parishioners. The Parish Council is the sounding board of the parish members, and therefore, everyone in the parish has a voice in it.
